Hoffman wants spot on Aprilia SBK Team

Aprilia RSV4 testrider Alex Hoffman has expressed his opinion about riding for Aprilia next year in the WSBK championship:

" Aprilia mainly concentrates on the 125 & 250cc championship, which is understandable because there they have to keep a name high but the RSV-4 is also progressing steadily, Aprilia don't want to become field filling. I think that we will surprise a number of people and finishes in the top ten are certainly possible and I will gladly, after all the preparations and testing, take the chance to race the RSV-4 next year" says Hofmann. " Of course I hope on a seat within the team, I have seen the machine growing and I put much time and energy in the project. After my time in the MotoGP I would not consider the move to the Superbike championship as a degradation. MotoGP is still the largest show in the world on two wheels but the Superbike championship is catching-up, with full starting fields and spectacular races."

Lazzarini wins Supermoto GP in Austria

The winning streak for the Aprilia SXV 4.5 continues in the World S1 Supermoto with Ivan Lazzarini, the dominator of the only heat disputed at the Austrian Grand Prix, the 5th round of the international calendar. Lazzarini and Team DRC Supermoto were once again unbeatable, marking the best time on the wet track during Saturday's qualifying round and Sunday morning's Superpole. At the start of Race 1, he was able to stay on his feet after a multi-rider incident at the first turn and went on to handily win the heat. Thierry Van Den Bosch (Aprilia SXV 4.5/DRC Supermoto) placed 3rd in Saturday's qualifying round and 2nd in the Superpole but ended up on the ground at the first curve and got back up on the bike in last place. The Frenchman began a comeback that saw him close out in 10th. Race 2 was suspended after a few laps due to a serious accident involving Berthome and Nestor: the latter of which was transported by helicopter to the hospital in serious condition. At the moment the red flag went up, Lazzarini was commanding the race and Van Den Bosch was 4th. Thus, only one heat of the S1 Austrian GP was raced.

Of note in the S2 was Saturday's Pole by Massimo Beltrami (Aprilia SXV 5.5/DRC Supermoto) and his 2nd place in Sunday's Super Pole. In Race 1, he spent the entire fraction in Davide Gozzini's wake (TM). With four laps left until the end and in search of victory, he forced the pace but made contact with the back wheel of a competitor, shutting down his Aprilia. He took off again but ran into a racer during his attempted comeback and irreparably damaged his SXV 5.5. Luca Minutilli (Aprilia SXV 5.5/PMR H20) had a great 3rd place finish in Race 1 after passing Beltrami at the start of the race and maintaining a good pace for the entire fraction. In Race 2, Beltrami recovered to 4th place after a not-so-great start while Minutilli, who took off in the back, finished 10th. Also important was the positive reentry of Christian Iddon (Aprilia SXV 5.5/PMR H20), who finished 5th and 6th in the heats even though he was understandably a bit out of shape after his arm injury.

Tuscon BT550 Superleggera

Tuscon, a french manufacturer of very special motorcycles, have started a new project. The base of the project is an Aprilia SXV550 engine and their goal is to create a bike with a weight of 100kg's. Hence the name Superleggera (Superlight). With the support of several big names like Aprilia,Bridgestone,Paioli and many more they will try to complete the project in 6 months. They chose the 550 engine because of its small size and power to weight ratio which exceeds many other engines. For example the SV650 engine makes less power and is 20kg's heavier. With 70hp stock and a weight of 34kg the guys from Tuscon found the perfect engine for their project.

Aprilia News will keep a close eye on the Superleggera and will keep reporting about the progress of this project. In the meantime check out the BT550 Superleggera website

TINKERBELL FAIRIES - TINKERBELL DECALS and POSTERS

Tinkerbell- Fathead

Buy at AllPosters.com

Quickly before your tween begins to question whether Peter Pan's Tinkerbell Fairies really exist, pick out one of the Tinkerbell comforter or bedding sets and get it on the bed so that you can enjoy the little girl look in your daughter's bedroom just a little while longer.

After you get that done, you might as well decorate the walls with some Tinkerbell fairies wallies, stickers and decals. Large cut out pictures of Tink in her emerald green dress can share some wall space with butterflies and smaller, less important fairies that are gathered to enchant your visitors and show their support for the celebrity in the group.

If a complete mural centered around Peter Pan's Tinkerbell fairies isn't your cup of tea because of limited area or because you like your wall art to be more traditional and possibly collectible; Tinkerbell posters might be more to your taste. You get the same cute, blonde fairy with a broad array of colors to give your decorating project a lift for an extremely affordable price.

When your daughter reaches the age when her love of fairytales is replaced by teenage romance novels, the comforter can easily be removed and replaced with a more mature design. As the bedding may have made a trip or two through the laundry by this time which will leave the fabric none the worse for wear; tossing it may be your only option. However, your Tinkerbell decals and framed Tinkerbell posters will look just as fresh as the day that you hung them on your preteen's bedroom walls so you can save them for when your child has children of her own or give them to another little girl who adores Tinkerbell fairies and wants a gallery of their pictures in her room.

Two victories for Aprilia at Brno

250cc

Alex Debon his won his second 250cc grand prix of the season after a thrilling conclusion to Sunday's Czech Republic Grand Prix at Brno.

In marked contrast to his runaway win at Le Mans, the 32-year-old Spaniard snatched victory from world championship leader Marco Simoncelli with a skillful outbraking effort into the very final chicane, while Simoncelli's attempts to resist the Lotus Aprilia rider allowed Alvaro Bautista to also edge ahead.

But it wasn't all bad news for Simoncelli, whose third place finish marked his seventh podium in a row for Metis Gilera and extends his title lead to 16 points over Mika Kallio, who crossed the line at the back of the lead group in fifth position for KTM.

Race results 250cc - Brno:

1. Debon (Aprilia)
2. Bautista (Aprilia) +0.280secs
3. Simoncelli (Gilera) +0.325secs
4. Barbera (Aprilia) +0.827secs
5. Kallio (KTM) +1.249secs

125cc

18-year-old German Stefan Bradl has taken his first ever 125cc victory after rising to the top of a closely contested Czech Republic Grand Prix at Brno. The Grizzly Gas Kiefer Racing competitor, son of former grand prix rider Helmut, reached the front of an eleven-rider lead group by the halfway stage of the 19 laps - then pushed hard to gradually break clear of his nearest rivals.

World championship leader Mike di Meglio got the better of Gabor Talmacsi and Joan Olive to wrap-up the runner-up position, while Hungarian superstar Talmacsi saw a podium finish at his 'home' event snatched from his grasp by Olive. Nicolas Terol collected a safe fifth, while Bradley Smith dropped to sixth position after leading on the opening lap.

In the world championship standings, di Meglio has now pulled 44 points clear of Simone Corsi, who finished in tenth position at Brno.

Race results 125cc - Brno:

1. Bradl (Aprilia)
2. di Meglio (Derbi) +0.881secs
3. Olive (Derbi) +4.070secs
4. Talmacsi (Aprilia) +4.118secs
5. Terol (Aprilia) +7.048sec

AB-1 SXV's kicking ass in the Wera Nationals

The AB-1 Motorsports team from the US have been racing Aprilia SXV 550's in the WERA lightweight superstock expert and lightweight superbike expert classes. Racing against fast Suzuki SV 650's and other 1000cc twins. But they are no match for the SXV's. They have been kicking ass this season dominating pretty much every race so far. The other riders are getting frustrated by the dominance of the Aprilia and have been filing complaints that all have been denied. Only smart thing to do is to get a SXV yourself!

PINK AND BROWN BEDDING - POLKA DOT COMFORTER and BEDDING SETS

brown and pink polka dot comforter set

GO HERE FOR MORE!

If your little lady thinks too much pink is too much, pink and brown polka dot bedding will keep her bedroom feminine while enjoying the peaceful, soothing atmosphere that earth tones bring to a space. Darker colors alone might rush a sophisticated look that girls in their early teens and tweens aren’t ready for, so steps should be taken to keep the room balanced and age appropriate.

Pink and brown comforter sets don't have to be solid pastel pink on one side and dark on the other. Reversible duvet covers can be a good thing but for a teenage girl’s bedding, we want something lively, funky and bright! Once you get the color scheme right, patterns can play a big role in gently easing your teenage girl into her future role as earth mother.

PINK AND BROWN BEDDING

Pink and brown bedding sets with a polka dot print are one of my all time favorites. Not because I believe bedrooms should be bouncing with wild dots all over the place, but because you can mix and match so many different patterns. Upholster love seats and cushions in fabrics in pastel pink with brown accents or perhaps a rich and luxurious dusty rose and chocolate brown layout if you can manage it without making the bedroom seem too mature. So long as you stick with the same shades of pink and chocolate brown you will be amazed at the number of prints that will add fun as well as a stylish look to your bedroom makeover.

Of course, polka dots aren’t the only way to go. There are pink and brown bed in a bag sets for teens in paisley prints and retro flower power designs right out of the 60s. Once you decide that brown and pink are the way to go, the only remaining decisions are the decorative accessories for the remainder of the bedroom and of course shopping for pink and brown shower curtains to match.

Aprilia Rip it Report: AMA Supermoto round 2

Stafford springs, CT - After a long 2800 mile trek from the X Games to Stafford Springs, Connecticut, the Aprilia Rip It Energy Fuel Team arrived at Stafford Speedway for round 2 of the AMA Supermoto National Championship. Last season this event proved to be a huge success, and with racing legend, Doug Henry promoting the event, it once again produced a fine showing.

The Aprilia Rip It Energy Fuel Team owner and rider Darryl Atkins earned second place for the Unlimited event aboard the SXV 5.5. Darryl was amongst the front riders at the start rounding turn one in 4th place. On lap number 4, he was able to pass KTM rider, Josh Chisum to move into 3rd place where he was able to begin chasing the two front runners. In the end, the 2nd place rider, Micky Dymond, crashed in the last lap while making a move for the lead. Atkins finished in 2nd in the race and is currently 3rd place in the point standings.

“It was important for me to get a solid result today and not to let the other guys get too many points on us. This championship is long, and now that I have started to recover from my broken wrist, and with today’s 2nd place, I feel the racing is just getting started for me now, and really look forward to the next few rounds. I have moved into 3rd in the championship so I plan to keep the pressure on, and start winning some races to get to the top of the ledger board.” commented Darryl after the race.

Reining AMA Supermoto Unlimited Champion, Benny Carlson, is focused on the 450 Supermoto class this year on the SXV 4.5 and finished in 6th place. “I did not get the result I wanted in the heat race as I went down in the dirt section,” explained Carlson. “That had me lining up on the third row of the grid however, I made some aggressive passes on the first lap, and worked my way back up to 6th. Had I had a better start, I felt we could have gotten on the podium today.” Benny is currently is 5th place in the Supermoto Premier class points standings.

GRAFFITI STREET ART with STYLE

graffiti street art poster print wall
ART PRINTS - Art.com!

Urban graffiti street art or whatever this art form is called in your area might be a good option to explore if your home needs a punch of color and nothing else works. Graffiti art has gotten such a bad reputation because the artists have a nasty habit of defacing public property with it or some symbols are supposed to mark the territories of street gangs. Neither diminishes the fact that many examples are so brilliantly executed that it seems a shame to paint over it or remove it.

Last month I worked with a client that wanted lots of color in her brand new apartment. When I arrived I could see the reason for the request because in spite of the fact that it was new construction there were lighting problems. This was one dark, gloomy apartment with virtually no sunlight and too few light fixtures. On top of it all, there was dark leather upholstery on the sofas and chair.

I knew that the answer to the problem would lie in the large expanse of wall space in the main living area would be the best place for an art display. Actually, the ceilings were so high and the area was so wide that a gallery of large posters and prints would not be out of the question.

Usually the problem that I run into has more to do with trying to make a small room seem larger rather than finding enough cool stuff to fill a room. An added bonus was that the neutral tones in the rest of the room gave me plenty of options as there was no color scheme to work around. The blank canvas that I was being given was a decorator’s dream come true.

I thought that the project was going to be little more than getting the pictures hung on the walls until I found that the owner had no affection for traditional forms of wall art that are colorful. Flowers were too feminine, landscapes weren’t the best fit with their selection of sophisticated, urban style furnishings and fabrics and she just couldn’t seem to make a connection with mainstream abstract art prints. I pulled out some examples of urban graffiti street art prints and posters that were my last resort.

I balanced the graffiti street art posters on the back of the sofa so that she could get a feel for what they might do for the room and I have to admit that even I was amazed. Anyone who has wondered is graffiti an art form worthy of respect should pick up a few graffiti art posters or paintings and inspect them with an open mind. They might be the decorative element that takes your decorating project from boring to extraordinary.

2009 RXV?

Aprilia has posted a service manual online for the 2009 RXV and its showing pics of a red frame and a new straight swingarm. A side drawing also shows the new swingarm. I made a quick photoshop of the 2009 RXV with the new swingarm and red frame. But it's not certain the RXV 09 will end up looking exactly like that.

PURPLE BEADED CURTAINS and BOHEMIAN BEDDING and DECOR

GO HERE FOR MORE

I've come to the realization that the right accessories, which in this case are exotic, beaded curtain panels, can transform most any comforter set or an inexpensive bed in a bag into a blissful bohemian dream. There's no need for luxurious silk designer fabrics so long as the jewel tone color scheme is in place. Mix and match the weave as well as the color of decorative materials through the use of over stuffed throw pillows, shams and floor coverings. If you have no objection to your teen girl's boudoir taking on the look of a harem; big comfortable floor pillows and upholstered hassocks would look pretty cool.

Perhaps the key to this style of decor is in the lighting reflected through the beadwork used as window treatments or even to take the place of a closet or bedroom entry door in a pinch. Yards and yards of polyester fabrics to gather and drape for effect cost less than one single yard of raw silk. For a bedroom or college dorm room where chocolate milk or soft drinks and chips will be consumed by giggling teenage girls, the polyester material that can be machine washed is a much more intelligent choice than natural fabrics that will have to be taken to the dry cleaner to remove any stains.

Anchor your faux jewels with earthtones in clever combinations like purple and brown or a rich and luxurious bohemian style purple and green. Hang some lanterns on the walls to resemble something that might be found in a Bedouin chieftain's tent in the desert and your cheap and easy teenage girl's bedroom makeover can be declared a stylish success.
